St. Agnes Soup Kitchen
We serve lunch every Thursday from 11:00am until 12:30pm in the St. Agnes hall and everyone is welcome to join us for lunch and socialization. Our guest count is anywhere from 40 to as high as 90, depending on the time of year and weather.
We have volunteers who give of their time and who help us to serve a wholesome meal to our guests. If you are interested in volunteering, we have volunteers that perform different duties - chefs and sous chefs to prepare the soup for that day (soups are normally made on Wednesdays), making sandwiches as well as serving the soup, sandwiches and dessert. After the meal, we need volunteers to collect trays and dirty dishes, load and unload the dishwasher and wash and dry various dishes, wipe down tables and sweep and mop the floors.
Caring Kitchen at
St. Ursula Parish
The Caring Kitchen is open on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month between 4:30-5:30pm. It runs all year round out of the St Ursula Parish Hall. Full course nutritious meals are offered each time at no cost. The Interfaith Caring Kitchen developed through a partnership between our family of parishes and the Chatham-Kent Muslim Association.
We are always in need of volunteers especially those who like to cook and make desserts. Volunteers are normally scheduled at the Caring Kitchen once every two months.
We are very thankful for many kind donations from a number of companies, organizations, retailers and sponsors in Chatham Kent that support both of our Soup Kitchens.
